This article explains the menu synchronization settings when syncing with the POS system.
Menu Synchronisation Settings:
Use menu sync v2 has to be ON always.
When using the 'Blocked default value for new products' function, new products will be loaded from your POS as blocked. This is useful if you want to load in your Christmas menu, for example, but don't want it to be visible yet. Keep in mind that after syncing new products, they will be blocked by default, and you’ll need to unblock them for customers to see them.
In Jamezz, you can create subcategories, for example, 'lemonade' and 'soda' under the main category 'Cold drinks'. If this function is enabled and you sync, our system will remove those connections if they are not present in your POS system, as your POS system is considered the leading source. So if you would like to keep those connections you made in Jamezz, we advise to turn this function off.
In Jamezz, you can change the order of categories. For example, you can place 'Cold drinks' at the top, followed by 'Beer', 'Homemade lemonade', etc. If this function is enabled and you sync, the order will be reset to match the order in your POS system. We recommend keeping this function turned off.
In Jamezz, you can link a product to multiple categories. For example, a hamburger can appear in both the 'Deals' category and the 'Hamburgers' category. If this function is enabled, the system will check the product/group link in your POS system. If the hamburger is only linked to the 'Hamburgers' category in your POS, the link to the 'Deals' category will be deleted.
This is similar to the ‘Overwrite order of categories’ function, but in this case, it applies to products. If enabled, it will reset the product order based on how it's arranged in your POS system.
This is similar to the ‘Overwrite order of categories’ function, but in this case, it applies to the order of option groups. In Jamezz, you can adjust the order of option groups. For example, when adding a hamburger, you’d typically first ask, “Would you like cheese or bacon extra?” instead of immediately asking, “Would you like to add a drink?” If this function is enabled, it will reset the option group order based on how it's arranged in your POS system.
This allows you to overwrite the order of option groups within 1 product. So again, If you have adjusted this in Jamezz we would advise to turn this off.
The functionality is straightforward. If you create a product category in Jamezz and sync with this function enabled, it will delete the category or product if it’s not present in your POS system.
If this function is enabled, only products that are linked to a category in your POS system will be loaded into Jamezz.
If auto-sync is enabled, you can select a schedule for when our system will automatically sync with your POS system.
If you turn off these functions, new products or categories from your POS system won't be loaded into Jamezz. However, this is only necessary for some customers. We recommend keeping both functions enabled.
