How do I set up Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of security that ensures only you can access your account. In addition to your password, you use a second verification method, usually via an app on your phone. When working with 2FA within Jamezz, this means that when logging in you not only enter your username and password, but also a temporary code generated by an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

This extra step makes it much more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access to sensitive data, even if your password is compromised. Setting up 2FA in Jamezz is simple: you link your account to an authenticator app by scanning a QR code. The app then generates a new code every 30 seconds, which you use when logging in. You can also choose to remember this verification for 30 days by selecting the “trust this device for 30 days” option, so you don’t have to enter a code every time you log in on the same device.

Step 1.
Download an authentication app. The two options are: Google or Microsoft Authenticator.

Step 2.
Login to the Jamezz BackOffice with your e-mailadress and your password.

Step 3.
After your e-mailadress and your password, you scan the QR-code first and after that you get  the question of the OTP code (One Time Password). In the application of Google or Microsoft Autenticator you find the code.

💡Tip! You can select "trust this device for 30 days", so you don't have to enter your code every time.

You will need the Microsoft Authenticator app for each new login attempt. So make sure you have the app when logging in. The code changes every 30 seconds for security reasons, so you can't save it.

After following the steps above you've succesfully setup your Two-factor Authentication. Your account will be now better secured.
